I was wondering if anyone knows of any good ringtone/wallpaper websites that aren't TOO expensive to download (I know that none of them are cheap!)
Also, has anyone used one of those ringtone etc. cards that you can buy (Telstra Shop sell them) to put ringtones on your phone??? Are they cheaper than using websites/hotlines??

I have a LG 5300i mobile that can accept polyphonic/screensavers/colour wallpapers (it has GPRS) but not all sites are compatible with LG phones

Well I use this for ringtones http://www.polyphonicringtonez.com/wap/ but u can only access this from your phone and I use this for wallpapers http://www.jhonny.org/wap/?type=3, hope this is helpful.

Try this site for ringtones. You'll have to upload them to your own server, but you can just use geocities.
All you really need is either a midi file or MMF file (not sure for LG phone) and a wap site (see attachment).

Just edit the file using notepad, then upload it and your ringtone/background to the web. And Voila, a free ringtone/background!

You can make your own backgrounds as well you know. You just have to create a picture that is 120 x 96 pixels. (obviously you would want to create a pic that is at least 240 x 192 pixels so you can edit it, then resize it later).

Here's an example of a simple background that I made for my phone (Nokia 3530).


I've done some for my friend as well, it's very simple.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I only just bought my phone (LG 5300i)...link to phone...http://svc003.wic109dpq.server-web.c...ctgroup=Mobile

But my phone did not come with the data cable and CD, so I emailed LG on Tuesday and yesterday (Wednesday) they phoned me as to why. Because I got my phone through a Vodafone prepaid deal, Vodafone tried to keep the price low so they didn't include the cable + CD. But the (LG) guy said he had a 'spare one' there so he is sending me one (free!!) Pretty happy about that!

So I am going to try the cable/CD first b4 ordering/trying to it make my own, etc. Apparently the CD has over 200 pictures and has ringtones as well (hope they're good though!)

Also, my phone uses the MIDI format for ringtones
