Lately there has been a lot said about the increasing number of speed cameras out on the road, and also about road safety.
After reading the latest MOTOR mag, and seeing the ad on the inside back cover, the was an ad for the road angel and i looked up the website.

This dash mounted device works via a global positioning system (GPS) to pick up logged positions of speed cameras (fixed and frequent mobile), and accident blackspots. These cover a large percentage of australia and updates can be downloaded every 2 weeks via the internet. The price is $990

They make some very valid points on the FAQ section of the site, saying that people when seeing cameras tend to stand on the brakes, increasing the chance of accidents to people behind them, while this device emits an alarm (which can be muted) as you get closer.

I might grab one of them when I get my tax done. I do roughly 40,000k's per year. It could come in handy.

apparently some of the SatNav systems now come with Speed camera / Red light camera alerts now.

It would probably good for victorias hidden fixed speed cameras and the like, but if your in NSW - and you fail to spot the three warnings or speed thru the tunnels - then errr - keep away from where I live !

well all like to give it a squirt when the opportunity arises (those with any passion left that is) usually when nobody is around and/or perhaps a smart arse saab driver.. anything that could alert you to a speed trap is good.

merely a question of cost I guess.

Actually a very fiesty bitch of a pit bull has plenty of room in the back of the ute....a couple of barks warning and i'll stop and let it get out and eat the camera off the pole!

Just lob a stick of dynamite out the window just as effective as a road angel as I thought that was the chick who did the service in the Quiksnax truck- yummo! What a babe!
