I know we discussed this in brief beforehand, however please feel free to visit the RTA website set up for the review of demerit points. Hopefully a read of the site will inspire more people to participate.
If I come up with something useful, maybe we can have a countersigning and I'll submit it on behalf of a bunch of us.

Oh god AP, what is wrong with these people, isn't anyone remotely interested in putting in their 2 cents on fines and demerit points? There is little point bitching after the event, so do it now guys! It's rare a matter such as this is ever open to public opinion.
I can't believe what a poor response this is getting on FF. Im quite upset about reading peoples threads on being booked for a few km over the limit, or on the uselessness of double demerits and the like, yet when something as serious as this happens its appears only myself, Mr Jucy, AP and John McMaster from my previous thread give a toss.
A lot of our more pro-active members are from Victoria so that explains a lot. They have no issue with matters in NSW, except of course if you consider that such rules are becoming one and the same nationally as the road rules go from state to national coverage.
So, whatever the RTA decides will surely be tabled in other states.

Update:
The reason the RTA is taking on the subject review is they received the NRMA submission on the demerit point scheme to which yours truly made a submission. I have a copy of the NRMA document which ahs initiated the RTA review if people are interested. Maybe someone on here can host thye Word document file for people to download, it's 177kB.
Regards,
AP.

the house of grunt Click on the above link to go to a site about my cars, old and new.
Am to assume when they write "Review" they actually mean "Raise" demerit points and fines?
The only thing I can see them doing is (here's comes the cynicism) lowering the points for an offence and raising the fine, so they can rape you for more money before you actually lose your license.
On a more serious note - Does anyone want to see the 3km/h tolerance on speeding like the Victorians now have to live with? Here's our chance to tell them where to shove it - don't think it hasn't crossed their minds.
XAgeetee:
Read the NRMA doc which will be hosted soon. I'm not entirely happy with it but it is balanced and probably better than I had reason to expect.

That was the call for submissions. There was a paper written from people's submissions which was then sent to the NRMA. Grunter is going to host the document so stay tuned.
