unfortunately yesterday afternoon my xf was smashed into by an old guy who decided its safe to turn left from the right hand lane... damage is reasonably bad to front drivers door and front guard

will most likely be a write off job by insurance... HIS insurance as it was obviously not my fault

also damaged is the chassis rail and tranny, plus the engine has suddenly developed an even bigger oil leak than it previously had

cost of fixing it apparently is larger than it's value so it's a wait & see game at the moment.... DAMMIT!

Thats bad news. I hope you get a better replacement if they have to replace it..

Goddam he mustve been blind...

I copped the EXACT same damage a few weeks back. Did the old guy admit it was his fault?

You gonna replace it with another XF or someting newer?

yeah he admitted it straight away and the worst part is it was on the busy section of the Hume Hwy AND he didn't even indicate, just stopped and turned left.

Playing the waiting game now to see what happens wether it gets repaired or replaced... either way I will still have a Ford, most likely the same era if I have to get another car.

Unbelieveable mate, sorry to hear about your car, But to be cliche at least you were able to walk away from it. Where abouts in Sydney Rd did it happen ?

Can't say it actually suprises me to hear it happened where it did, I live local to there and there are a million near misses a week ( especialy with people turing into Coventry Fasteners ). I hope the insurance company isn't too hard on you mate and you get a fair go.

he turned hard left into the front guard of my car and the momentum of my car still moving saw the damage go from the drivers door forward to the front.

its an hour away from getting towed to the assessment centre to see if its worth repairing or not
