My car is Galaxy Blue and im just wondering if anyone knows if $1000 or thereabouts would be enough to cover a same colour respray? I wouldnt need under bonnet/inside doors etc done because they are all fine, but there is alot of damage to the rest of the paintwork. Im not too sure what a respray like this would cost so if anyone has any ideas or experiences please let me know.
You gotta be kidding me?! That isnt far off the price for a full respray! I know someone who got a new respray in a whole new colour for just under $2k.
i had both sides of the car (all doors and 1/4's) + boot lid resprayed for $800 not long ago after it was keyed, it was also about $600 to get my bonnet and roof panel beated and resprayed after a tree landed on it.
add to that, bumpers etc, i'd say you'd be able to get it done for $1500.

depends on two things
1. How much prep is required to get the car back to straight and smooth
2. Wether you get the good paints (2 pac and a few coats of clear) vs acrylic
2pac wouldn't come in under $1000 as you'd be looking at; as a minimium
1l of 2-pac primer+ reducer and hardener
2l of base coat
2l of clear
thats around $400/$500 depending on brand worth of paint... no consumables like , tape, sandpaper, filler, spray putty or labour etc
imo i wouldnt waste my time with anything less than 2 pac for a nice job but each to their own i guess
