Had to share this with you. On my way home from work last night I saw a silver Monaro fanging up the road towards me. I live in a rural area so I guess they had chosen what they assumed was a quiet road to test the new car out. As it flashed past me I saw a car follow it onto the road from around the corner and accellerate quickly to catch it. What was the second car? It was one of the new Vic police rice mobiles!!

Did I witness the first traffic infringement for a Monaro??

I would have followed it if I thought I could have kept up, decidied against it and just laughed at the image of what happened when the Police car caught up.

Hmmm a Vic Highway patrol using a ricer car. Flick do you know what car the cop used?

That would be kinda wierd pulling over a Monaro in a ricer. I got the impression that i got let off on the speeding offense i done becuase i drove a local un-riced car.

I've heard if you drive a full on rice car you get nailed bad by the coppers.

The police car was one of their new yellow VX SS rice mobiles (with all the colourful stickers) There was a pic posted on here a little while back of them.

You are correct Marine1 but these colourful SS's have somehow gained the affectionate title of ricers around these parts.

Venom XR

This morning I saw a silver Monaro parked out the front of my local Subaru dealer I walk past every day. I much prefer the look of them to the HSV versions. Wonder if he was trading it in for a WRX.

Same here. The basic design works better for me. Maybe when I see the HSV version in the flesh it might be different but out of the mags the CV8 gets my vote

Saw the GTO & the CV8 at the Nats. CV8 is a much nicer looking vehicle for mine. This is the first design I reckon HSV have stuffed..
