For two and a half years I have been trying to get the boss to get a ford as the new school car. Well today it happened and we'll pick up a fairmont in a couple of hours time. This all goes well for my master plan of converting all the kids into Ford fans from the Dark side. I do wonder though how a Fairmont of Equal spec to a Berlina could be $2000 cheaper because that's how they got the deal. The reason I hope is that I think I told the local dealer that the cars the kids like are the ones they see most in the school car park and at that time the school car was the Berlina. Oh well mission accomplished for now.

Yep - my mrs works for Centrelink. Her boss got a promotion that entitled her (the boss) to a car. The boss liked my wife's AU1 XR6 so wanted to order one (it would have been AU2 or 3). She put the order in around May 2002. The clever guy that deals with the cars ordered the BA for her - in the meantime she had a 'pool' car (Holden, then Magna). Her car was the first car delivered to a govt dept in Canberra. Since then both Centrelink and Veterans' Affairs have converted the majority of Holdens to BA Falcons - and mostly XR6s with the odd XR6T thown in for good measure. In about 12 months time, there should some good second hand buys at the govie auctions!

BWAHAHAHAH I am the conversion king.
Started going out with the Missus about 5 years back.
Their cars consisted of a daihatsu, a toyota, mitsubiti and a Combi van. Now the combi is gone and replaced with a 95 Telstar (g/f brother) the mitsi has been replaced by a Ford Ute, toyota replaced by a Corsair (nissan style one) and G/F has a neat little laser.
Mate's at work:
John (old work) from a nissan pintara to a Falcon
Peter (old work) from a VS Belina to a BA futura
Mates father from a bmw motor bike to a BA Ute
Jarrod (new work) from a R30 skyline to a 91 Telstar
Adam from a SSS Pulsar to an EF manual.
plus countless others that havn't got a Ford yet but I've changed their thinking as to there next major purchace.
Simple stratagy: logic and facts = Ford buyer.

One of my bosses had a "ricer" all done up. Guess my laughing at him and just constantly giving him heaps about 1/2 an engine etc. must have had the desired effect.
B@$!^&d bought a BA XR8. AArrgghh, who's laughing now!!!!!
Oh and though i had nothing to do with it, one of the young guys at work bought a XR6 ute. Good to see some of today's youth still have good taste.
