scooby loses his fight

well, after 6 months of chemotherapy, scooby doo, my faithful border collie and friend lost his fight. at 3.20 this afternoon, scooby breathed his last.

however, we knew from his first diagnosis of cancer that he was on borrowed time. things looked good for a while, and then about a month ago he had to have his spleen removed. his chemotherapy was postponed to allow his little body to recover a bit, however, there was more hiding. sadly his liver had a tumour and i believe there were lumps around his stomach. he also had fluid on his lungs.

i got the call today from the vet and my wife and i went down there at 3pm. we were given some time alone with him, the vet came in, the injection was done and my fluffy friend breathed his last, with his head in my wifes hands and me holding one paw.

thank you to all on here for your good wishes, sadly, it just wasnt to be. a huge thank you to the morley vet centre for all their efforts.

finally, thanks scooby doo for the wonderful 10 years we had. i look forward to seeing you again, when i cash in my chips.

Sorry to hear that RS.

Pets are not always just pets, they often become just another memeber of the family and sometimes we even forget that they are animals...I know I have with my dog.

My condolances.

Sorry to hear, Gerry. May Scooby Doo have an abundance of cats to chase, bones to bury and poles to pee on up in doggie heaven.

I'm very sorry to hear. That is quite a sad story, but I'm sure you've got plenty of happy memories!
