i could potentially use the road as I often go to NoblePark/Keysborough/Dandenong. However like the citylink I can always find another way. Honestly I don't like tolls. But UNLIKE citylink this is a whole new road not one that was essentially already here and already paid for. So either way we've been screwed. I saw more like boycott rego. I mean where does that tax from that go?? Roads are in a poor condition.

boycott rego is a good idea too, if everybody does it, then they cant do anything. If everybody boycotts the tollway, then obviously they dont get the revenue... i spose speed cameras will be behind every green sign too?
um the liberal government is actually funding the freeway, thats why, city link has nothing to do with it.
city link was done by a liberal government.
if they are putting the money up fair enough that is great, we need the tax government to put the rest in. I wonder what the catch is though. There is always other ways around without using that road.

Well if they stick to the original plans (highly unlikey... eg. tolls) it would be no problem to find a different route because it was said that, unlike citylink, the 'old' paths would remain unchanged so you wouldnt be disadvantaged.

except now there's no chance of a FREEway being built there. Every government in the world is expected to maintain, develop and build new roads, thats where BILLIONS of DOLLARS of EXCISE, $400 rego per person per car, Hundreds of millions of dollars from traffic fines, and the $475 million dollars from the Federal Government and you think it's fair that we should pay for this road because it doesnt already exist? None of the roads that currently exist existed before they were created, so are they going to toll us on every road while they are at it? It's bull dust, there should be no tolls, and on top of all that, it was an election promise that there WOULD BE NO TOLLS! I say time to send Bracks to Iraq
