Hey all,
Could anyone give me a rough idea of the going prices for ED XR8's? i checked www.redbook.com.au this is what they list :

1994 FORD FALCON
ED Sedan XR8 4dr Man 5sp 5.0i
average kms 150,000 - 180,000
trade in price guide* $5,800 - $7,300
national average price - private sale* $7,000 - $9,300
price when new (RRP) $36,144

$7-9g's sound a bit cheap. I saw a EB XR8 listed for $8900 the other day. So if anyone can give me a idea about price, and maybe let me know how hard it is to find a manual one, id really appreciate it! Might move from my ED Auto 6 to a manual 8 :)

Yea mate, forget about even thinking of finding a 5spd ED XR8 at that price.
Be prepared to pay a premium for 5 spd.
In wa i've seen EB XR8's (auto's) go for $7 grand. I guess it depends on the condition generally.
Your in the exact postion i hope to be in in around 6 months, getting rid of my ED auto 6 for an EB/ED 5litre 5 spd!.

Yes ED XR8's can fetch around 8 to even 12g in adelaide but then again it depends on condition and k's. I've seen EB-ED XR6's get even more. The 5ltrs dont have very good resale value, especially if it's an auto like mine. Expect to sell one for $9000 at best with low k's and exc. condition. Manuals go for an extra 1g-1.5g. Best to look interstate coz they will have RWC and more than likely are in better cond.

Hmm.. ok thanks guys. Gives me something to think about :) Prob a few months of buying anything, but i thought i'd find out the facts first. I would go the XR6 Manual, but there's just something about the sound of the V8 that gets me :D Maybe my interest's might change if i test drove and ED XR6 sometime ;-)

Nah get a V8 manual, the sound is like no other

It's worth the wait...took me 4 months of searching all over Australia to find a written off EF XR8 manual, i'm about 2-3 weeks away from having it all bolted into my fairmont and ready for tuning, exhaust fitment etc etc

i had a 6 auto, and it went ok, it sounded ok but it just wasn't a V8

Yeah, im still a while off getting all the cash, so least i got some time to look around, i do definately want a manual tho..

The Mrs and I paid 9,000 for an EB XR8 with 130,000 on the clock.

The car with quiet a few extras, which we dont think the dealer knew about.

I saw on ED XR8, auto with 112,000 on the clock here in Sydney that they wanted 12,990 for.
