OK - I've covered everything thing I need to, to be able to sell my car on saturday as a registered vehicle.
The one thing I am not sure about is this. I have personalised plates on the car, and want to keep them. Do I change the plates on the car, say tomorrow, by deregistering the personalised ones and reregeistering standard ones? If not, how do I keep my plates, but still sell the car with plates on it on saturday?
Its got me stuffed and there is nothing on the website. It says to ring Qld Transport but the phone has been engaged for 2 days.
Re: Selling the car without personalised plates:QLD
Does that happen during the transfer say when the person buying that car takes his half of the rego transfer in? Or can I get it done before hand so i don't have to go in with the buyer? I take it, it happens before hand so that the car has plates on it for sale.
Re: Selling the car without personalised plates:QLD
Yup, just go down to QLD transport, and change the rego back to standard QLD. Only thing is you'll get the new rego sticker most likely, so your mate who buys it will have to tell them to send him a new one when he transfers it.
For memory it costs like $17 - i think the smart state ones are cheaper then the standard ones tho!

Ok, the Ford's got a nice new set of Sunshine State plates, a safety cert. and I've payed her off. On Saturday I will yank the stezza and replace the factory unit/speakers. Then she will be all your's, I mean kel's.
