Selling My Car?

Well I want to sell my Falcon EB.
I want to sell it because its a CFI. Obviously that makes it a series 1. It was made in '92 and has 170k on the clock.

I want to purchase a Series II EB or ED (I think they're a little out my range tho ) I've seen plenty of Series II for about $5000 and a few CFI EB's advertised for $6,000... Im just wondering if I'd be able to do this.. without spending too much..

and which would you sell? Private or Car Yard?

trade in or private sale?

you should go private unless you get a good trade. Though some dealers may give $1000-2000 incentives on some cars so shop around really. When I sell my car with all the goodies in I can only sell it privately otherwise id get nothing for it in trade. There have been alot of theiving buggers in our local area (maybe yours) so be careful when you advertise you car...!

$5k for an XR8? That is pretty incredible I've got to say. But the resale values of EA-ED cars are certainly falling all the time. I'd consider buying at the auctions, as there are occasionally some very good deals there. It will possibly work out cheaper than having a CFI EB converted to multipoint, etc?

check the SA trading post... not one EB under the $3,000 section
I wonder if the states makes a difference...

I also wanna sell it because its coming up to that 100,000k mark again, meaning head gasket.. I don't wanna worry about that.. I like the look of the body coloured bumpers to, and who would complain if it came with factory mags instead of my wheel covers too?
The gear box is getting a little iffy too.. I wanna sell before it starts costing me too much. It jumped into neutral once for no apparent reason when I was driving one cold morning... jumped straight into gear again.. but it scared me when I was pulling out of a round a bout and it was just revving...

Im serious that $5k wouldn't be too out of the question.. I've seen them go for more at car yards a few times...

XR8 for $5k? god damn that's a steal.. I dunno if I can afford the petrol and innsurance of one tho ..

Not that incredible....you just have to know where to buy from. mY mate owns a wholesale yard up here in Broadford and always sell cars like this.....eg my sister just bought a 94 EF GLI , auto , dual fuel for $5200 from him , no damage !!
He also had an EBII XR6 with a torched interior , running gear + body good for about $3000.

No, gotta agree with the others. 5k is a steal, the EF sounds like a good buy too.

was the ef an ex taxi? the only way I've ever seen anything like that was when a 95 car had like 500,000k +
