SUNNY GOT A TURBO!!!!

and it's fully sick. I can already hear everyone going "oh gee, who gives a sh*t, it's just another turbo"

He bought the kit off a guy in Frankston that had it installed on a AU. It pulled 165rwkw @ 6psi and that was non-intercooled running standard EEC-V and injectors. Just a Malpassi 2:1 rising rate reg. The kit includes a T04 turbo (0.6A/R front, 1.00A/R rear), manifold, 32mm external wastegate, 3" dump-pipe, intake piping to suit a BBM, Malpassi reg, boost gauge and custom made oil catch can. He got it for a really good price cause the turbo needs new seals plus Sunny's bargaining power

I'll get some pics tonight and post them up. We dummied it all up on my spare EA engine that's sitting in Sunny's garage. Looks cool as

Very nice, can't wait to see pics!!! What kinda time frame we looking at here for it's completion??? Also, is the kit going on as is for now or will he be getting a cooler etc done aswell??

You're luck you've already got straight gas, makes it much easier.

I think it's gonna be a while before it all goes in...although now it's sitting there.....well you'd know what it's like steve/jack lol!

Respray is the first thing that has to get done. We were discussing whether to go straight gas or duel fuel for the turbo. both have pros and cons. if it was gas he'll have to re-locate the convertor which means new lines connectors etc. Then the mixer has to fit in the small piece of pipe between the turbo outlet and BBM (when he fits it)...then you've got to worry about the bonnet closing.

Sticking to petrol means it's gonna be harder to tune and then you might possibly have to invest in some engine management or injectors if it doesn't run properly. Plus cause the car hasn't been run on petrol for years, it needs a new fuel tank, lines cleaned, fuel pump, filter etc etc.

I reckon straight gas would be a lot less hassle than dual fuel. Can remove the standard fuel tank, as well as all the EFI gear in the engine bay, much smoother look

Well done....another turbo e-series!!! Look forward to checking out the progress. Maybe sunny could try running it with a gas research throttle body....it should run well, and save a few dollars.
