Could my 'puter possibly have a virus? It's been doing some really weird stuff the past few days, mostly when I've been on the Net. It literally types stuff by itself (just crap, not actual words), the toolbar thingy at the bottom of the page that shows what programs I have running dissapears but is there when I put my mouse over it (auto hide is off) and occasionaly some MS Explorer pop up window thing will appear for no reason.

Do you use MSN messenger. because if ya do, im pretty sure other people using it can control your computer. by opening stuff and typing messages etc. this is what ive been told by my mates anyway

It doesn't sound like you have a virus.
With the MSN pop-up, some sites open pages in the "background" with no actual content on it. For what reason, I don't know. One lies on the Yahoo! US sports site. For some reason, sometimes, an Internet Explorer bar appears at the bottom (when a new window is opened) but no window appears on the screen!!

Doesn't sound very good at all. Now for a couple of questions -
Have you got a latest virus scanner?
Does it only happen when on the net?
Did it start happening after installing a program/game or visiting a particular website you haven't seen before?
Do you have any types of messaging programs(icq, yahoo etc)??
Or do you have any internet sharing programs(kazaa, morpheous etc)???
do what has been mentioned already. use windows update - you should do that often, check for latest software that you currently use as there may have been security holes. yeh thats all ican think of at the moment.
