Just want to express my sadness about the loss of Shirley, while I'm only 18, as you can tell by my nick, I'm into older music. Shirl always carried himself well and seemed like a great Aussie bloke, he'll be missed.

How sad.

I'd just finished watching Long way to the TOP on the ABC which last night featured among others Skyhooks then I hear this on the news.

I real loss!

I was deeply shocked and saddened when I heard the news. Shirl was an icon of Aussie rock & roll and not a bad chippie too! I will never watch Our house with the same enthusiasum again. He will be greatly missed. My regards to his friends and family.

l have met Shirl and l can TRULY say he was a GREAT GUY.
To Shirl.... l'm tooo sad to see a great person with a sense of GOOD humor go like the way he did ...hope he went the fast way and not the painful way..:( RIP
