There has been worse (the race in 1955 where a Merc crashed killing 80 people or the 1979 F1 race where a track Marshall got collected by an F1 at 160mph killing him and the driver) but definately one of the worst since those.

For those of you who DL the 'aftermath' file, I sat there in complete amazement. The guy was left to burn inside the car for 90 seconds, survived, then dragged out by a martial, left lying on the roadway with no immediate medical attention and the martials were more concerned about putting the fire out in the car. Absolutely unbelievable!!
