I've just had another look at the new xr6. Everything has been dramatically improved but Ibthink they could have easily improved the following:

Wheels are shocking-there about 5 years old aren't they? I don't remmber Ford ever designing a decent looking wheel. Holden has released some stunning wheels over the last decade.

2 things that I really dislike about the xr6 are:
1) wheels need improvement, I hate to say it but holden's wheel designers are first class, if not the best worldwide.

2) rear spoiler could also be dramatically improved. Having the spoiler integrated with the boot would have been nice. like the R33 Skyline. It just doesn't look like it was built for the car.

Having the rear guards flared a little would have also been nice.

what the heck the running gear more than makes up for it - 5 stars for that.

Wheels look OK to me! Most of the Ford factory alloys look OK too IMO (except EL XR8).

I agree with Falchoon, the wheels are great, and the spoiler is a an offset to the big T3 wing

Yeh i reakon ford made fairly crap wheels, there r a few exceptions like the E series GT range and the T-series also.
Hopefully FPV will bring some more radical designs.
I think that saying large diameter wheels or good looking wheels are ricey is stoopid, wot next if a falcon has a body kit it is ricey as well?

I don't have anything against Ford's wheels - and if anything, I like to see less money spent on fancy wheels and more on engineering.

Having said that, Holden have come up with some great designs in recent years, such as VT Calais International, VT SS, VX SS, Monaro CV8, etc.

I must agree with XR8XTC, Fiord have had some really shit wheels over the years.
How long did they drag on the Snowflakes, XD-EF.

THe EB &ED 15s where good, 16s were ok, EB/L GT wheels, are the best.

The EF/L XR 15s & 16s were nothing special, the NL, Tickford Fairlane(Speedlines) were nearly as good as the GT rims.

AU1 17s the best, AU11 17s ok, All T wheels are pretty good.

This is only my opinion.

Sure! I love the Ford wheels!
Those Flared 5 spokes for the Au - AuII look sweet and the T1 wheels were a knockout!
The EA Fairmonts wheels looked the goods as well if you ask me.
Wasn't to impressed with the Stock Au alloys but the Alloys on my old EL futura were sweet.
Some of the Holden wheels look good but nothing special as far as I'm concerned.
I guess It depends what you like.

I dont mind the T3 TS wheels {on that car kitted as it is} and i like BA XR8 wheels from pics but VX GTS wheels are friggin awesome in my eyes.

it helps that they are 19 inch wheels!!! they fill the guards pretty damn well hey?

i think AUI XR wheels look sexy, and if someone can make them fit my car (or find me decent copies that do) i will be forever in their debt

overall i think ford wheels are ok, but lately the commo ones are looking ok too
