I'm new here so excuse me if I don't know much :)
I'm considering buy a Ford Fairmony Ghia, I guess it's an EA.

It seems to be in really great condition. It's been in one family for 8 years, passed from father to son, and he's only selling because he is getting a new commodore from work.

It's a sort of pale green/metallic colour, power mirrors, power windows, a/c. It's registered til Feb 2003 and after driving it for most of today it feels ok. It's not blowing any smoke, though it does seem to hiccup a little when I idle, sitting at around 750rpms approx I am guessing. I'm getting it roadworthied tomorrow (tho I have a feeling that wont be a problem).

The guy wants $1500 for it. Should I or shouldn't I buy it? What things do I need to look out for specifically? I'm unemployed currently and so am just wanting a car that will do a couple big trips a year and a once a week trip shopping locally.

Personally I Feel $1500 is a good price. Opinions?

Could well be an XF - which is still good for the money. But it would be nice to know what it is before buying :)

what year model is it? If it's a boxey shape it'll be an XD/XE/XF.

I suggest getting an NRMA inspection done on it, that will tell you what's wrong with it.
