Should XR8, XR6 and XR6-T be marked as FPV cars? - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

I don't really mind personally, but I have heard many things about this issue. Some say the cars should be staying as special production models, and therefore because of the 'racing' aura they should now have FPV badging, since former XR's had tickford badges aswell (you know wings etc)
But some people say that the XR's are now considered as 'Fords' therefore they need to be shown to be trully Fords.
What do you guys think?? I am not too fussed, they are still great cars :s3

The new setup is fine.
XRs are now associated with Ford which is what GP wanted in the first place & FPV will focus on the performance derivatives.

XRs coming from the factory is fine, its better for ford...and its not like FPV arent doing any work on them, Flinty mentioned at the raid that they have had a lot to do with the development of the XR6 T and we experienced first hand their new engine building line for the XR8s...

And im sure FPV will do a sensational job with the range of cars they are going to get to work on.

So all in all everyones a winner...

Yeah i think they shord stay as Ford vehicles, much like SS is a holden vehicle, and FPV should concentrate on high performance cars that are noticably different than the XR range.

That was the whole idea of FPV, to make everything so much easier to understand. Before Fords performance Vehicles it was all over the place with XR's here, and FTE there, and tickford over that way, the whole perception of ford was wrong. They wanted to focus straight on The XR's are FORD, and FPV is the FORD performance vehicles. This is much easier to understand. Actually how many people really knew what FTE stood for, let alone what it was???????
