*sigh* Buying a car is too hard

Well as you may or may not know, I've been fanging the Laser around for quite a while... As I've been on and off looking for a new car to buy. Well, I have been forced to stop procrastinating due to cooking the Laser engine on the way to my girlfriends house (45k's from home)

$800 later I wack a new engine in it, just to get me around for a couple more months...... As the girlfriend doesn't drive...

The major problems I'm facing with buying a car;

A) I'm in WA, people obviously don't buy Manual V8's over here.

B) Availibility of cars, I'm after a EL2 XR8 or a AUIII XR8.... Its like finding a needle in a haystack........ And wanting a manual only complicates things.

C) Dreamers, people think their EL2's are with 20k, and AUIII's still trying to fetch 30's. Would you buy a AUIII XR8 for $30,000 when you could get a T Series for 5k more ?

Maybe I should just save my money and keep the Laser, or open up my eyes to other brands of car.

I'd agree with Tote take some time off work go to a capitol city which has a friend or relative where u can stay cheaply posibly with a car u can use cheap too and have a car buying holiday. Yes I know its not ideal but its a sacrifice u have to make or else search around a bit for a car broker who may be able to help. I believe there are a few around these days who get u the best deal. You certainly have a problem though with no easy solution.

Geez man if only I had that problem.
Try taking a break and then go to an auction. Over here they have what's called Turners Auction which are pretty reputable and for a little more cash they'll get AA to give it good going over. There's some really good cars out there it's just trying to track the right one down.
Best advice ever given" DON'T PLAY WITH IT...OR IT'LL FALL OFF"
