Entrails are not bad. Feel larger than the CR-V. I liked the CR-V but prefered a forrester. Haven;t used an Escape / Zoom zoom but like the look of them

I just read a write-up of the four cylinder Escape and the journo was pretty happy with it. I have been in an Escape before (not one of the others) and I must say the interior didn't bother me, and the ride wasn't too bad at all.
I'll try to find the article for you...

But yeah, several people at work have X-Trails and they seem to love them. Certainly much better looking that CR-Vs!

Don't buy one, buy a car, why do you want a softroader? to drive around the streets normally? They are only if you plan on using it for Recreation, but many cars can do what those cars can do anyway. Sorry but I just hate people who buy 4wd's to drive around the city
i drove an XTrail once...it was pissin down and the ground was mud.....very comfy. almost was looking like i was gonna get bogged but it pulled right through. nice seats too!

Did you guys not hear about the new Territory? Ford make them.
Other than that.
Get a Subaru Forrester.
They make a very good product!

Personally I'd be very wary of a Ford softroader after our experiences with the Explorer - nicknamed Exploder by mechanics everywhere for a very bloody good reason!
Also, 4WDs tend to be a bit hard on gearboxes, so make sure you do a bit of research. I suggest ringing various gearbox/diff/engine places to see if they get huge numbers through for repair.
