but my parents absolutely wouldn't get me a stick
so is the problem purely tranny?

Nice ideas in there, but they don't realise that after a while of doing this, you're going to end up cracking the engine mounts from the increased pressure you're putting on them when increasing throttle whilst holding the brake on.

Anyway, just my 2c worth.

The Auto wrx is very slow from take off. It doesn't give the turbo time to spool up. Some simple mods can fix that though..

Try dragin with an auto I6 Falcon :oo1: . First gear 2.39:1 wohoo :dead: . Not that I have to worry about this for too much longer:s6:.
When is Ford going to use an auto with a decent first gear? Some thing closer to 3:1 and in a 5sp auto would be much better.
