Well, currently I have the wonderful pleasure of my Mother In Law staying with us (oh god, shoot me now!)
Of course, like any sane man I do the best I can to cope.
Anyhow, after returning from the bottle shop tonight (see copeing) I was in the process opening a bottle to smooth the nerves (that eye wont stop twitching lately) I was asked by my (already stressed out - see not copeing) wife to check the food in the oven. I did, and it was cooked. I turned the oven off and was about to take the food out when I told her what I was doing. She said "Dont turn the oven off, I still need it".
At this point the MIL (Mother in law) chimes in with some smart ass comment. I answer with a witty "us men are simple creatures, we are not mind readers"
Of course she couldnt avoid the bait and answered something like "yes, you are all simple"
My comeback was a laughing "yes we are, if we cant eat it or root it, we will kill it"
Thats when she, not quite seeing the hole she was in, laughed and said "well, you cant eat or root me"
Silence, all laugher stopped and with a dead serious voice and a completely blank face I replied "Yes, exactly"
I'm still chuckling to myself now.
