well, we are out. but, as a true irishman, i look at the positive. we got beaten by spain, but only on penalties. a nation of 4 million made it to the WC, and then to the second round has done very well. we can hold our heads high. there is always euro 2004 and WC 2006. we have a young side, with no superstars, but who play exceptionally well as a team.

and in true irish style, we NEVER give up. i was proud of all the players last night. and especially proud of those brave enough to take the penalties. miss or score, you boys showed real character. heres to the next competition.
