P05 P normally stands for pilot, so could be one of the pilot build cars for the EB GT?

Yes, it certainly is one of the pilot build cars.
I read his advert, and everything seems correct except for the
personal order bit.
These pilot cars were never intended for personal sale in the begining,
they were only built to test the GT and its parts as a car.
Each pilot build car was tested for a specific group of functions, in fact I think one was even used to finish off the interior details..
After all the testing was completed, the cars were then sold off, but were never build to a personal order as far as I know.
I have original magazines and literature of the period and can search through them if needed.

There used to be a bloke in the XR club that had a piolet car, i think it was this car, he ended up trading it in for $13000, on an AUII XR6.
