just got my first speeding fine..i was speeding but the problem is that my car is still in my dads name and the offence is issued in his name so he loses the 1 point. this is the problem......he lives in AMERICA and i live in AUSTRALIA. if i were to send this over to him so he can declare that i was the driver it would take more than 28 days to get back. what do i do? it is possible that dad will return at some point so thatd mean his lost a point for nothing.

Call the telephone number on the top right hand corner (i think it is if memory serves) for information about how to proceed. You might be able to get away with a fax signed copy.

Your dad only has to do a stat dec letter and express mail it ..... OR ..... in fact you could get a friend to fill it in, nominate yourself and get a signature put on it (cops aint gunna check it), now as long you dont contest it when you get fined, and your dad doesnt call it fraud (he is not loosing point so why would he), then the cops will send you a notice, you pay it, you loose a point cops get money everyone will be happy :0)

I say fight the whole thing in court. It's obviously a camera and you owe the rest of the motoring world the honour of wasting as much time of theirs as possible. If everyone chose to have their penalty heard in court they couldn't have cameras!
