Yeh I think you guys are pretty much on the money with that explanation of the problem. I chamios mine immediately after I wash it. pitty the previous owner didn't :(
It never really bothered me before, but all of a sudden it really started to bug me. Looks ugly. My old man knows a couple of guys who are retired spray painters, he's gonna ask them how much for a full respray. Because it's got a couple of scrathes on the doors/boot aswell, nothing major, just looks a bit untidy close up.
So to extend the topic a little more. Thinking of going from heritage green (current colour) to a glossy black. Good Idea? How is the depth and shine achieved, is it friom the paint? clear paint over top? or just good job with a good polish. it will just be the exterior panels getting painted. Not the engine bay etc. Because I'll prob prepare the car myself and then just get them to spray it. And then i can get the shitty grey strips colour coded at the same time. Hooray! :D
