the stevie wonder design studios proudly present...
for your driving pleasure, the latest batch of our sepcially designed models.
the new magna. lots of thought went into that front end.
the mitsubishi 4wd soft roader thingy. another classic front end.
the lexus 4wd thingy. looks like a daewoo. or worse.
the lexus convertible thingy. we used a house brick for inspiration.
daewoo. all of them.
kia. all of them.
toyota. all of them. (my friend ray charles suggested the plastic oversize chromed mirrors on the 4wds as he thought they would look very classy...and he was right.)
bmw 7 series. i cant take all the credit for this one...ray helped out again. i did one end and he did the other. and we didnt talk to each other the whole time.
ford scorpio. used a dead fish as inspiration for the front and an ageing vauxhall viva for the back.
the new vectra. now i like that thinking
anyway, we at the stevie wonder design studios would like to thank all of our customers for thei business. a huge thank you must also go out to the mugs, err public, who have purchased our beauties. with your continued support, we can expand our operations and employ more top designers.

Hmmmmmm.
Well Im noticing more new magnas on the road now than I noticed AUs after their launch.
And Toyota/Lexus seem to be getting stronger and stronger. The RX330/Harrier combination seems to be selling very well round my area, its almost starting to grow on me. But luckily my area also has over dosed on Nissan Patrols or Landcruisers, I just look at them.....
Each to their own though, all manufacturers have dogs of some description. We can be motor enthusiasts on Ford Forums, but yet, there always seems to be a market for the softroaders or wrap around headlights.
Re: the stevie wonder design studios proudly present...
I have to agree with rsgerry on a lot of those stylings. Lexus to me has lost the plot with styling with the sc430, es300 and the rx330. The LS430 is ok, back looks like a honda accord. Nissan, I don't like any of their American Infiniti cars, I don't like the stylingof the R34 (look like a box, the 33 was a better looking one). BMW i am afraid have started to lose their edge, first the 7 series now the 5. Audi seem to be the only company in which nearly 100% of the cars I do like the styling of. I guess each to their own huh..I'll just keep my BA thanx..

One manufacturer which does'nt rate a mention (and for good reason IMO) is Mazda. They have out done themselves redesigning some very bland looking cars. The new range are some of the most agressive designs i have seen and a credit to their design team.

Couldn't agree more ! Some alloys and a little less altitude and and the 1 is a nice little machine, and you really can't improve on the 6 in any direction . . .
My only beef with mazda is the missing RX7 - damn I love those series 7's *drools* If I won lotto, that is one car I would have in the garage very very quickly . . .
Lexus ? hate the new 4wd, and of course . . . the sc430

I totally dissagree with you guy's, I'd rather look at any Vectra, Magna and Lexus RX330 than a sleep inducing Falcon XT, Monaro, Commodore Acclaim and etc...
Heck, if any of you guy's were in charge of car design studio we would see creations that all look the same, inoffensive and possibly create the world's best cures for insomnia.
Everyone has opinions on what are good and bad aesthetics but at the end of the day, regardless of good and bad styling the design that pushes the envelope most will be remembered the most.

Dare I say, meet the Australian car buying public.
I don't think that this attitude is that unsual. It's human nature to not like things that are excessively different. Cars like the AU also suffered from proportioning that went against the general trends, and several details that were terribly inelegant, but it's worst sin was that it was too different. Context is important. With the release of the angular VY, the AU's are looking much more at home on the road than they use to, ie better looking.
