Well, its been 3 days and usually they find them quickly if they find them at all.
I suspect that I am now in for the battle that is always on when dealing with insurance companies and just enjoy the fact that I am also going to pay higher insurance premiums as a side benefit of getting my car stolen.
sorry to hear about this xacoupe. it looked like a damn nice car.
ill keep an eye out up on the coast here for any, since fordforums has members from all over aus.. if many people are on the look out something might turn up. dont give up!
just the other night someone tried to steal my families VP commie wagon which was in the driveway, seems the bastards couldnt even do that correct (even with the immobiliser switched off) so we're left with the bill for it.
anyone else who reads this thread keep your eyes out for xacoupe's car over the next few months, the culprit may be trying to offload it.

yay
Not very fair is it jeff, get your car stolen by some mindless prick then have to cough up the claim money to get it repayed, plus pay a higher premium on insurance next year

I had a call from the insurance company today .. they are sending out an 'investigator
' to take statements etc .. good thing to be interrogated and treated like a crook when you are the victim .. but I will put up with it .. I paid a fortune in insurance and the least they can do is honour it.
They probably figure 'Insurance Job' as I was trying to sell it but they can look to their heart's content as anyone that knows me knows that's not my style at all.
Well me and Shane have the Hoppers Crossing/Werribee area covered and we will definately bring swift retibution upon anyone that shows their face with it around here!
Don't give up hope of finding it though, a mate of mines XH got flogged last year and they found it about a month later. Had been involved in a hit & run then dumped.
Hope all goes well with your insurance mob.

HAVE YOU DRIVEN A FORD LATELY ?

RAPID BA MKII GT WITH BLACK STRIPES
Is there anything that will make it stand out from the rest, just incase some low life is driving it with stolen plates on it? Cos I have seen a couple around but none with your plates.

the fordforums sticker is the major thing .. otherwise it's as standard as can be from the outside. It didn't have a radio in it as I took it out to fix it ... not that I will bother now.
Dammit! ****! After having our family car stolen off us - it's a pretty sub-level feeling. I hope you get it back, the theives get a good FF sitting and an arse raping in gaol.
I'll keep my eyes open for it here in Sydney for you Jeff.

Firstly mate I am mortified that your car is gone. It is truly a major shame.
However, as WASA up here would know the stickers etc mean nothing - the NSW Police took how long to get that Evo Mitsubishi that was being used for armed robberies and that had full race car signage on it. Unfortunately you will have probably got the usual treatment from the cops - fill in the form and we'll get back to you if we find it. In the old days the cops were out there and stopping cars and that's how a lot of stolen cars were intercepted. A speed camera isn't going to do that anymore.
Say goodbye to your old friend and frame some of the better pics.

Jeff, sorry to hear what happened as I know how it feels when you walk outside and you look exactly where you parked it and it is gone.
Your stomache drops and you get angry as all hell.
I have attached two pics (hope they work) of a crash that was out the front of my parents house Monday Night.
The white Commie was stolen & ran into the Blue Car parked on the side of the road. The commie drove off & we followed the oil & scrapes on the road and we found it down a dead end street and everyone was gone.
Remember, People who do these things always get whats coming to them in the end.
Cheers

I know pete more than most that you are right ,but I guess I was prepared for it too because of that. Mind you, in the old days when people ran they were allowed to conduct pusuits .. these days it's not worth the grief if something happens and as much as I want my car back, I would rather lose it that anyone get hurt chasing it, especially a copper.
I expect it had different plates on it within 5 minutes if not towed on a tray truck.
If the goddamned goverment would use some of the dollars they steal from us with the cameras to bolster the cops numbers I wouldn't be as annoyed but as you say, time to print and frame the pics.. if they ever do find it it'll be a lightweight special with all the good parts removed.... bastards.
