Straight-line speed or cornering ability...

Just curious, what is more important to you, handling or straight-line speed.

Personally, I wouldn't be happy with a car that went like a bullet in a straight line but had to slow right down to corner, compared to a car that might not be quite as fast in a straight line but can corner fast without any hassles.

Not enough options. My vote is: Fast in a straight line AND fast around corners.

What'd be the ideal car you'd love to own,if you had the money?

I like both, but unfortunately the EB isn't too great on corners, although I've seen a lot worse. I guess the XR6 suspension helps because I don't get too much body roll.
I'd much rather be able to throw a car around corners and watch my passengers faces, and it is a hell of a lot more fun than going in a straight line. Well unless you have a Holden sitting next to you at the lights or on a freeway.

I mean if you could have one OR the other, but couldn't have both...

If I could have just one? Straight line. I like big power stuff, and think alot like a drag racer does. I 'know' drag, if you get what I'm saying..

Re: Straight-line speed or cornering ability...

I'd rather a car that sticks to the ground and hugs corners if i were doing circuit racing, but for road use i think i'd have to make a compromise and will always be thinking "what if someone wants to line up at the lights?". So, I'd probably be looking at 60% speed and 40% handling. If i were to do up a road car, i'd firstly upgrade the brakes, followed by supension to handle better, and then i'd start making more power for outright speed. That's the order of importance that i see
