Strange things happening with FF tonight (Thu 23/Jan)

Two Qs for John, DK or any other admin...

1. Tonight when I logged onto FF I got a dialog saying I have a new PM, yet there is no new PM in my PM Inbox. All PMs are from 2002. Someone mentioned a PM bug a while back. Is this it? No biggie - just wondering/bringing it to your attention.

2. Normally when a thread is more than 1 page long it is shown in the thread list how many pages it is. I noticed this in Laminge's "Bitten by an ugly bug thread". Normally it has "Page 2,3,4,5,6...Last" after the thread title, but tonight it doesn't have that (implying it's a 1 page thread, yet when you open the thread you see the page number links at the top of the page).

Has anyone else noticed this? The feature works on other forums that use vBulletin (such as ls1.com) so I'm presuming it's not my PC.

I found that page number really handy as it lets you go directly to the last page (very handy for laminge's thread!). Will the feature be put back? I've attached a pic of how it's looking for me.

Thanks guys and keep up the great work!

Andrew

the PM thing was an issue caused by the server going down earlier, and the database being reset, it caused a small amoutn of posts and PM's to be lost, but also everyone was told they had a PM when they didn't

I had not noticed the multiple page thread thing, and will look into it

*edit* I should mention that the arrow you see at the start of the thread will take you to the first unread post by you in that thread anyway, or it should...

Had issues with the server. Seems that the db got a little corrupted and was throwing loads up into the 40's. Ihad to do some things.

First initial response was to lower what could be causing the loads to go high. I removed a few things and then that did not help. I looked and saw that sql was having issues.

I closed the server down for a bit and shut down sql. I did a check on the DB and it was full of crap and the index tables were screwed up.

So I repaired her and did a check again and found everything was in working order, but we lost i think in the neighborhood of 17 posts. The flags on the PM system were reset as well. Indicating that members had PM's when they did not. That is why you got a notice.

I will be reinstating the items that i removed later today.
