I have started this thread in the hope of gaining an informative series of replies based on what vehicles you have raced and beat on the street. This thread will hopefully give viewers a genuine account of what particular model Falcons can beat on the road. For instance in my EFXR8 during genuine fair dinkum tussles I have beaten - every 185kw Commy I have raced (don't ask me why but honestly have), a couple of ef xr6's and marginally held off a supercharged Commy although after takeoff he sat on my tail till 100!
However for every win there is almost certainly a loss. I have lost to a very rough but worked vk, been hauled in up Bulli Pass by a VL turbo, embarrased buy a turbo Volvo when accelerating from 80km/hr, smashed buy a generation three from the lights at the end of Parra. road heading west and had a third gear tussle with a WRX up Heathcote road in which I gave in as he effortlessly hauled me in.
I have posted this thread for two reasons
1) I had my car advertised in the trader and a young bloke wanted to know what it could beat.
2) I personally would like to know what the newer model Fords are capable of beating on the road. Or losing to!
Obviously we could rattle off almost every car each day that you pass but hopefully the thread will stick with genuine races that you believe are worthy of explaining.
G'Day newxr8,
My EF XR6 has whipped all the 185kW VR & VS Clubsports it has come across.
The down side, getting whipped by a Rotary at Calder (death by rice). ****Hangs head in shame****

Hi smciner1,
Interesting to see you can also beat the 185 in an efxr6. Maybe your EF is not quite stock? As for those rotaries, often it is best not trying!

Hi Laminge,
I agree with you totally. It's just every now and then I need to blow out the cobwebs! I guess there's no such thing as safe speeding but........................
By the way did you beat any cars at the track worth mentioning?
Exhaust is about it for mods (sounds grumpier).
When beaten by rotaries, time to call in the Big Gun, known as Falcon G.T.!
