Suggestions for first car

Well i have about $2500 not much but im a learner. I want a small sedan. anything but a holden. any suggestions on a car for a learner driver??

$2500 can buy alot of car at the auctions!! or a very average one from a car dealer.

I'd recommend a post 86 corolla; cheap to run and cheap to maintain.

get an EA Falcon. parts are cheap and everywhere, and its better to learn in a larger car. it's safer and if you drive a smaller car later you will be able to park like a pro. i had to learn in a 302 XW with sticky accelerator and no power steering.

cant go past an EA. Mines got MPFI, 4 speed auto, pacemaker extractors and speedy chrome rims. cost me $2300.

Corollas, Pulsars, Lasers - get one running on ULP though, because if it will need PULP and/or additive that makes it more costly to run. There's gotta be a few around your price range in the mid-late 80's vintage.
