Yeah i'd thought i'd pass this scenario to our panel of experts here:
A mate of mine owns an R33 Skyline GTS-T but...
he wants to sell it cause insurance is a fortune and his car is due for shocks etc his car has 100,000km as well.
He wants to spend around 35k and wish's to get a new car although he is open for suggestions. Naturally i have told him to get a falcon or XR6 hp, any ideas on price etc. I reckon he can pickup a superceded model XR6 HP for around 35-36k.
I'm trying to get him to join and become one of us blue oval brigade, but he's abit wiery about resale value and has never owned a ford falcon before.
I'm working on it though... :D :D :D

He should be able to pick up a EL XR8 or an AUI XR8 in pretty good nick for that price. If he's looking at a newbie, then the Falcon SR is a pretty good buy. XR's would be preferred of course...
My VCT was in the high end of the range, but i had a few extra's that were on it and sub 40K km's on it.
On a lighter note.. the salesman tried to avoid my haggling by saying it had an "bonus" MOMO steering wheel on it. The sales manager even joined in on it. I could not help but laugh

He shouldn't be too worried if he is looking at second hand or superceded models as the big hit has already been taken. I would say that if he was looking at spend 50k then considering the time frame for new models resale would be a bigger issue.
He's not going to want a sedan after owning a Skyline, tell him to get a XR8 UTE. A new one is right in his price range

I'll steer him as best i can away from the little 4wd's.

No, actually Pete I have no idea what you mean. You haven't made sense all night. Can you start making some sense please. The server can only take so much crap..
I think his given up his power hungry appetite, i totally agree with you a TE-50 is a good match to the R33 skyline but seems he wants to concentrate catering for his "hand brake" he's always broke every week with that car.
