about that indicator wire, its easy so just snip it off and tuck it away somewhere, its not important........if one day you find a bunch of identical cars in a parking lot and you really need to know from a distance which one yours is, then whip it out and install it but its really un-important.

I haven't started yet, I was just gathering up the info that i needed.

I'd like to give the indicator thing a go so i am buying the diodes and trying it.

Do you know what wires are for the indicators and where to find them?

Sundeep, I spent $20 on a Haynes repair manual from Repco (It may not be as good as the others, but it was all I could afford) and it has detailed diagrams of all wiring of the car. I'd recommend a purchase similar to that rather than relying on people here. Just makes things much easier.

Is all cool I fitted heaps of stuff in cars and stuff and i can get it workin all good np.

UPDATE-
Well we started today with a 2 hour time limit as my mum had to go to work. All was going good the new one fit in the original mount and stuff.

Then, trouble struck :( , It turns out that on the original system rear-door lock works different to the front. When the front door C/L locking gun is up, the door is unlocked (the button is up). But with the back, when the gun is up the door is locked (button down).

If I haven't lost ya, this means that the new system can't be fitted to work with the old system in the back doors. So, now we have to make new mounts at the back :(

OH well, we'll manage...

sundeep, is the central locking an aftermarket item that's fitted to your car? Or is it factory locking.

If it's aftermarket (like a locking kit you buy from JB or Strathfield), just reverse the polarity (ie, switch the wires) of the rear door actuators. This will make them go the same way as the front.

It is factory central locking we are pulling out, but if we reverse the polarity is still won't work as the little arms and gadgets are made for it to go up when you are locking and down when you are unlocking.

BTW, is n e 1 interested in a series II ea central locking system (genuine). It is the type that makes that electric whining noise.

On the new system I can reverse the polarity to the back doors so the when the front ones go up the back ones go down...YES!!!!
