Re: Supa Gas in Broadmeadows selling pure propane for cars?
first up: where the hell are you getting gas from for 38cpl??? its 52cpl here.
is propane different than LPG? would you need to retune or anything? would there be benifits of using propane?

Thanks for that mate. Now I know exactly where to go.
I would think using propane in an LPG car would be not only ok, but it would be beneficial. See reasons in my first post.
I bet to get the most out if it, your car would have to be tuned for straight propane, but unless its a drag only car, or you are some sort of hermit that never ventures far from Dandenong, that might be a bit difficult, with the very limited supa gas outlets.
I would liken using straight propane in your LPG car to running premium unleaded in a car that takes unleaded (as au1xls has already said).
But thats just me taking what I think is an educated guess, so proceed with caution......

Yeah it was very cheap at 38 cpl. Everywhere else here in suburban Melbourne, its about 43-46cpl. Man at 52 you are getting killed, but I got shafted at 56cpl in Corowa this morning so dont feel too bad ok.
Re: Supa Gas in Broadmeadows selling pure propane for cars?
Yeah the yanks get it pure propane style, but we get this crappy half assed version.
I reckon its because it'd make LPG and petrol very similar power wise, and most importantly economy wise. Now the government couldnt have that now could they?
Re: Supa Gas in Broadmeadows selling pure propane for cars?
I've put the straight propane in my EA ghia before and didn't notice any difference.
Just a warning for anyone traveling to supa gas they are only open i think 9-5 on weekdays and 9-12 on saturday, so don't bother heading down after work.
