this bunch have just taken over a chain of stores in WA called marlows. you used to be able to go into a marlows store and purchase many items for most makes...eg water pumps, distributor caps etc. they usually had a good range of bits and pieces at decent prices.

the local morley store has now moved to much bigger premises to coincide with the name change. trouble is, they stock bugger all! a huge store with lots of bugger all. possibly the biggest range of spray paint i have ever seen (nice generic stuff...red, blue etc) but only a very small range of specific colours (ford monza red, holden absinth yellow etc). i am amzaed at how much stock they have, and how much is generic crap, such as seat covers and car washes.

word is that they took over 30% of marlows stock and sales in some of their competitors stores are up 15%.

maybe they should change their name to piss weak autos....

In their defence you can order just about anything and they will get it in any still be cheaper than most places.
I have found that Repco stock SFA these days as well. Who else is left that has a full inventory.

yeah they took over rocca bros here in sa. I drive a ford so I don't have to go there very often for parts (stocked up on 3 bottles of oil and a stack of filters service before last)
Hope they don't screw that up but there are other places you can go.
Repco suck man their prices are way to high but they do have everything.

Yeah Super Cheap Rice in balcatta has gone down hill also, they used to have a nice easy layout where you could find what you want quickly. But now you walk through the door and are bombarded with shit rice accessories, super crap tools and then out back is the old marlows stock which is super terrific compared to the rest of the shit.

I wouldnt mind opening a business specifing in oil, filters, plugs and leads. The basic needs for a simple service, but then coin comes into it and a company like SuperCrap would do me out of business :(

This is a coincedence because I was actually thinking about starting a thread similar to this one.
The Mandurah store has turned to absolute crap now that it is "SuperCheap" the service is so piss poor I feel like making a call to head office...
I brought a sports steering wheel from the now "SuperCheap" and also an SAAS bosskit.
I arrive home (300km SE from Perth) only to find there is NO hornpiece in the bosskit box.
So I give them a call and explain the situation, the bloke rudely talks to me telling me "You'll have to bring it back" and he basically also told me it's my fault because I should of checked the box first.
Ok well after a lot of frustrating moments I finally get him to send one down, it arrives, and it's the wrong F#@KING hornpiece. So I ring AGAIN, and explain the new situation. I am then told a new one will be on it's way soon. 3 weeks later and I have still not received it. And may I also mention that I have made about 6-8 phone calls to them with enquires about all of this, I rung again the other day, and this time, apparently a casual had lost the envelope with my address on it... WHATEVER
So i give them my address..again. And the lady tells me it should arrive this week coming up, so I really do hope I get it this week, otherwise I'm contacting headoffice to make a complaint.

the one here where i am seems not too bad all the normal rice but filters plugs ect are prety easy to find only thing that shat me last time i went was thay had no thinners but it ended up all good as i went to the paint shop up the road and found out a mate works there and i got it cheaper than super cheap had it because we is mates i have noticed repco here is weak as water thay dont have nothin no more some of the older blokes here would remember when u could go to repco and get short and long motors exchange and thay were also makeing brake machines tire changers ect how did thay go wrong? the auto barn here aint worth pissin on. there is an autopro here that is good for rings bearings seals waterpumps ect. i tell ya rice is takeing over. super rice auto rice and Rip Every Poor **** Off

Im so pissed off that the balcatta Marlows has been converted to Super Cheap... I was such a frequent customer there.. i should have had a VIP card. I knew all the layout and they were always so friendly.

Now theres so much shit all over the place, and the staff werent too friendly.

I've still found Coventrys to have everything I've ever needed when it comes to spare parts.
