Alrighty I received an Email not too long ago regarding Microsoft Windows Update.
No dramas, I thought as i opened up the attachment then all S*** hit the fan.
My computer started playing up not closing files extremely slow etc.
Well I got an antivirus program which removed the infected files & i havent had a prob since...... Except
I constantly get 30-60 emails to my outlook express account inwhich are emails with the same virus trying to re-infect my computer. Im 100% positive that Im no longer infected but how do i stop getting the Emails?
Blocking them doesnt seem to help.. Any ideas???

How did it work out for you Brett? Bloody thing tried the same on our computers and kept sending the same email to try and trick us into opening it. Fortunately we didn't so no probs.

The other latest thing that is doing the rounds are bogus hoax emails from "ANZ", "Westpac/Challenge", "StGeorge" and "PayPal". They are very realistic and i had to do a lot of checking to ensure they were a hoax. NO bank sends the request that is contained in those emails.
Just thought you might not be aware of those.

As you found out the hard way, the email from Microsoft is simular as in that they do NOT send emails either. It is up to you to contact them for updates etc.

Sally (the handbrake) has spent a bit of time with a program called "MailWasher". Absolutely brilliant. The only down side is , it originates from New Zealand. Hehehe.

It shows you what emails are on your server before you download them into your email program. You can tick them as friends or block them and send them back where they came from, making them think you do not exist.
We purchased the Pro version and are very happy with it and, NO, we are not part of it, just happy customers.

I use mailwasher as well, however I have only 3 days to go before I have to register it... time to find the crack!

Apparently theres no sign of the virus on my system but Im still getting about 30 odd emails trying to reinfect me again dammit.
Yep Dani found that Mailwasher program & its pretty much the only way I can "Screen" my incomming mail.
Good to see you are still around mate.

You will probably find someone that has you on their address book is infected, in which case theres not much you can do but wait till they fix it :)

Or use some form of Virus Scanner that will awfrawo;efhawlfhasug everyone time a virus comes down !
