On the weekend I went for a blat in a new AWD Territiory down to the winternats.
5 of the hours spent in this otherwise great vehicle were driving at night.
For those who have not seen the instruments and console of a territory, do so, it is a sight you will not forget quickly.
IT IS ORANGE, not orange, but bloody ORANGE.
Remember those crappy gas plazma laptops from the 80s, like that.
It is almost painfull. Turning the display down to fully dim makes it passable but hard to read things like speed etc.

I checked with the dealer, choices are orange, orange and orange.
I was thinking (a little bit) about buying one next year (maybe)
This put me right off.

Maybe an optional blue or white would be a good idea (hint, hint)

At least you were able to read the instruments. Try driving a mid '90s Pajero, red numerals made it almost impossible for me the read them in daylight unless I had the lights on.

I believe that the Ghia has the white instrument/console lighting, you'll just have to fork out the extra $10k LOL.

Not sure on the TS, can anyone advise??

And you're surprised after seeing the trim colours? Pfft! Sorry, but if you saw how the same colour trim in an EB Fairmont Ghia goes for wear and cleaning you'd never go near a TX Territory. The instrument colours sound likes they had some stuff left over from AU1....

C'mon guys orange is a good "fair dinkum" Aussie colour just like the Eucalyptus seats. I think they call they call it "Nemo". Means it's colour-coded with what the kiddies are watching on the DVD at back.

Light-up colour of instruments has never been a thing to bother me. It's quite a stupid reason to be put off an excellent car really.

Yes if you live in the big city and don't drive at night on the open road much it probably is.
After a few hours in the Territory my eyes were getting irritated. This is not good.
I have driven both my GT-P and standard BAs (hertz renta-scuds) for many, many hours at night and no problem.

Have you actually driven a Territory at night?

Yeah, it does seem to be a very 'cheap' effort by Ford. I'm busting to get my EF to blue LEDs, and as for EA and EB clusters, well they suck at the best of times, but at night they're just unbearable. I hate them!

But as has been mentioned, if the dash setup is similar if not identical to BA, then surely it wouldnt be too hard to either swap the LED's, or just put covers over them?

I guess its only a matter of time till someone decides to pull apart their new Territory and get all the answers.
