Hey guys!
need some advice from you. I am 20 and its time to buy my first proper car! (been driving mums corolla and a magna for a few years)
the absolute most i can go is 6 grand.
What car should i get?
Cost of petrol doesnt bother me i earn enough to afford a V8.
Ive been thinking either:
EB XR6 : theres a few going for around $5500 to $6500
or XR8
Just a normal EB series 2, 6 or 8, preferably manual.
or likewise with an ED.
does anyone have any other suggestions
I want a good reliable car and a good driveable car? are these cars reliable?
and i do want something with a bit of get up and go.
Did some searching, most of the V8 stuff for $6000 is EB GLi's and such, or much older cars. You didn't mention if going nation wide is ok, so I did some Victoria only searching as you're in Melbourne...
I was thinking the same thing. You'd be better off getting an EF Falcon as you can pick one up for around that price.
If you wanted a V8 and think you can afford to own one, then go buy a XB Coupe in decent condition for around $7 and spend the money that you make on doing it up and maintaining it.
That way you can sell it in 10 years and make a packet.

EB XR6 in manual would be the G-O. But I am not sure how much a decent condition XR goes for these days. Either that, or save a couple of more grand (or borrow) and get an EF/EL.

hey thanks for the advice guys.
i would love to wait more and save but i cant, i need a car now for my job.
i think im leaning more toward an ED falcon, but im not sure yet, as i said 6 is the max i would go but between 4 or 5 is more ideal as ill have money left over to either spend on mods or to fix things.
