Why is the motoring media always rubbishing the AU Falcon for?? I know it is behind in sales, but today in the Sydney Morning Herald, they were carrying on as if the falcon was the "lemon" not the Commodore! Original AU is pretty much a reskinned EL!! What, the Commodore VT - VX is not just a reskinned VN??? Take the fancy plastic shroud off the engine and you got the same rough old VN motor!! At least the Ford has gone up in capacity. The Falcon now has ABS brakes to "bring it line with Commodore" Does the Commodore have Dual airbags, power windows, OHC, Alloy head, 16"wheels, far superoir rear Irs, Adaptive shift auto. But what the Ford does lack, is the fortnightly recalls!! Gee that must be why everyone wants a commodore! Please god,let a Ford win Bathurst, maybe then we will get some people onside. Anyway sorry if I sound like a crybaby!!

Whatever the case Ford have learnt a very valuable and expensive lesson. The AU has copped a great deal of critisism since its release and unfortunately I think it was needed to give Ford a kick in the butt. As an AU1 driver I can easily dismiss all the critisisms and pretend that it's a great car, but honestly, I don't think it is Fords best effort. AU2 is a different story, like the article said, the AU2 was the car Ford should have released in the first place.

Unfortunatly thats been the case atleast for the last 2 'new' Falcons released aswell (EAII and EFII)

Although the same does apply to the Commodore range aswell(VN, VR and VT)


Lets hope the AV is a different story....

Everyone is giving the Falcon a great pat on the back, supose he had a hot new story and thought he would jump back on the old band wagon.

Pitty they dont post contact numbers when they write stories so we could ring and ley some home truths to em.

The otherside is he may have been left out of a media conference and thought this was a good payback!
