Todays history lesson

Here's some info i just read in an old mag i got at home. Back when the old EA was hooning around the prooving ground A guy called David Ford and his team were playing around with things like 4 valve heads and turbo chargers. I quote "With the pump attached the multipoint 3.9 churns out upto 180kw." Why has it taken so long to get a turbo on these things???

high costs... bean counters... too radical... no need for it... you name it!

plus, mind you, as far i know Geoff is the first Ford Oz president in a while to come from a non-accounting background!

Jac is a strange mix; Financial background & a 'Car Guy'. Preobably what made him so effective in dealing with a broad range of issues. Jac The Knife!!

Also a need by the former Ford Australia management "to concentrate on our fleet and taxi sales".
Never has a worse sentence been spoken by the President of a major motoring company. Thank christ for GP and HJ I say..
