Four arrested at Cruise premiere
Tom Cruise and his fiancee Katie Holmes arrived together
Four men working as a freelance camera crew have been arrested at the War of the Worlds film premiere, after Tom Cruise was squirted with water.
The incident happened as Cruise gave interviews at the film's screening in London's Leicester Square.
The 42-year-old actor's face and jacket were drenched with water squirted from what appeared to be a microphone.
A police spokeswoman told the BBC News website four people had been arrested on suspicion of assault.
Cruise - who attended the premiere with his new fiancee Katie Holmes - was talking to journalists when he was squirted with water.
The star struggled to keep his composure as he repeatedly called one of the journalists a "jerk".
He said: "That's incredibly rude. I'm here giving you an interview and you do that, it's incredibly rude."
A man was then taken inside the cinema by security guards.
Police said he was part of a four-man freelance camera crew, who were all arrested.
Cruise then continued his hour-long walkabout to greet fans who had waited hours for their idol in the sweltering heat.
