Too Interested in Speed Cameras to Fix the Roads - Hume Highway
Just 24 odd hours old and with maybe 550km total under the treads the NSW RTA strikes again. The only sections of road they religiously resurface are those with their speed camera strips in place. Elsewhere, such as the Hume Highway between Tarcutta and Holbrook has surprises that do this.
Thankfully the quality of the tyres paid dividends this time around. The rim sections were found to have 4 inch cracks running under the tyre bead! (both rims on one side of the car were damaged, the photos being of two separate rims)
For the record I tried to alert NSW Police but their comms systems weren't working at Holbrook and no one was answering the phone. The NSW RTA answered their 131700 number and said they'd have someone go out and look at the pothole sometime soon.
