Too Interested in Speed Cameras to Fix the Roads - Hume Highway

Just 24 odd hours old and with maybe 550km total under the treads the NSW RTA strikes again. The only sections of road they religiously resurface are those with their speed camera strips in place. Elsewhere, such as the Hume Highway between Tarcutta and Holbrook has surprises that do this.

Thankfully the quality of the tyres paid dividends this time around. The rim sections were found to have 4 inch cracks running under the tyre bead! (both rims on one side of the car were damaged, the photos being of two separate rims)

For the record I tried to alert NSW Police but their comms systems weren't working at Holbrook and no one was answering the phone. The NSW RTA answered their 131700 number and said they'd have someone go out and look at the pothole sometime soon.

damn thats bad..

sound about right tho, that most of the govt. aren't interested in actually fixing the roads, just making money off of them

Sorry to hear about the wheel Pete, we have to put up with them all the time.
Any luck with the RTA yet?

Re: Too Interested in Speed Cameras to Fix the Roads - Hume Highway

Having just replaced a front rim on the GT-P for the same reason I can say that I'd have been mighty unhappy at two - although I've had to replace the tyre as well thanks to a 20 cent sized sidewall bulge. This one came courtesy of a Mexican pot hole so don't feel that NSW are the only villains in the piece.

Will put a pic up later.

Cheers
Russ

Not good Russ, ive got NSW and Vics potholes to contend with.
Its like they have a contest to see who has the biggest holes in their roads.
