I have a small problem. My 14 y.o son was recently given a 74 LH Torana. The cars not in too bad of nick, minimal rust, 13mth old 202 4 speed, UC subframe and brakes, rusty mags. The problem is he has very little interest in most things automotive. I think he had grand visions of dad dragging home a EVO. So now I have a LH Torrie sitting in the backyard. As I have leanings to the blue oval, I've been looking for a XA/XB coupe (don't care what condition it was in)or XW/XY shell to do up as a final project to keep with little joy. So should I build the Torrie up as a SL/R or sell it and continue my pursuit of a coupe shell?
He doesn't want it, you don't really want it, I don't see the problem. You should sell it and invest the money for your son so he can put it towards any car he likes when he is ready.
While I am biased to Ford in a big way, I have no problem with Torries. And having one sitting in my backyard would spark the buildup of a blown SBC....
As your son has very little intrest in anything to do with automotive why dont u just get him an ordinary car when hes a bit older... go get and save the Coupe for yourself!
