It says it is confirmed holden has this number unsold, mainly commodores and vectras!
No wonder holden has to and has been for ages discounting cars to sell them. I really wonder is Ford or Holden making more profit? Ford sell cars for more, sell less though, but most of what it makes. Holden makes more, sells for less and has many left over that just sit around, like th VY 1's they are still trying to shift.
I'd rather be in Fords position myself.

dude you should do some research into ho much money holden and ford made last year.
If it is true i hope no body loose's a job over it. I dont care that its holden i would hate to see X amount of workers loose a job, as for 1 head rolling at the top well it happens all the time, some one replaces them so a job isnt really lost.

The AUs you see sitting around are all ex Hertz Rent a Cars. I was speaking to a Ford dealer and he said Hertz have just upgraded to the BA and they had to off load about 250 AUs. That is why you see so many AUs lying around for $19,990 all of a sudden with less than 40,000kms on the clock.
but then the people on the waiting list just carnt wait
and head down the street to holden
and with that amount of stock ready the coustomer gets whont thay whont rite there and then

Where i come from the Holden dealer is selling all 2003 plate commodores for cost price and is even showing you the invoice from holden to show you how much he paid for them to prove it and it includes VY1 and VY2. VY2 executives for $29000 drive away, Monaro for $51000 drive away. It may be cost price but Holden gives the dealer a discount to move more cars so the dealer still makes a couple of grand, i use to sell motorcycles and the motorcycle companies do the same thing to clear old stock

Unless of course the dealer is rebated after a sale, say same as the computer industry where a manufacturer rebates regularly to the retailers once sales numbers are calculated....in the car dealers case the invoice price shown to customers would not be the true picture of cost to the dealer.
30,000 is a lot of cars, but then again you must realise how many Holden produce daily compared to Ford. Ford struggle to meet demands and Holden easily exceed them.
With this in mind it'd be a much better in Holden's position, sadly :(
