What is it with unregoed cars with bodgie hand written TRAFFIC signs instead of number plates?
DO teh owners believe that by writing the word traffic on a scrap of paper they can drive uninsured and unregistered.
WHy TRAFFIC why not . UNREGOED or SANDWICH or some other dumb word
Is "traffic" like some spell or talisman?
I was nearly stacked into today by some old shitter with traffic sign.. great, no rego, no insurance. As far as i can tell if you drive an unregoed car even 1cm on public road, your committing an offence, with or without TRAFFICsign.
am I wrong? should I not bother paying rego next year and just write TRAFFIC on my number plates?
the "Traffic" number plate covers those who have just acquired a car and the plates are only valid for a trip to the RTA to register the vehicle, no doubt sum people abuse this tho
"Traffic" number plates only legal status is to open you up to a Number plate calculated to deceive charge along with unreg and uninsured. It is legal to drive an unregistered car direct to either register the car or get a blue/pink slip. upon failing you can drive direct to get it repaired or to home. Any other driving of an unregistered car requires an Unregistered Vehicle Permit (UVP) that is obtainable from the RTA on presentation of a pink slip and $$.
Back in ancient times I believe "Traffic" was a legal way to go, but hasn't been legal for many years
