Trouble with Nokia 6100 and IR in Windows XP - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Well, the subject kinda says it all really.

The phone and computer recognise each other, Nokia PC Suite says it's there - then it drops out. The IR symbol starts flashing on the mobile and PC Suite says it's not there anymore. Can't even get a chance to load anything on to the phone.

I've been doing some hunting around and it sounds like a driver problem - ****en Windows XP. I've installed the drivers that came with the IR dongle as it told me to do, but no better.

Help!!!

works fine for me.. XP and a 6100.

yeh try the IR drivers.. other than that i dunno.

um i heard that you are suppose to use like the official Nokia ones cos otherwise it dont work, ie the Nokia IR cable, i dunno, no harm in trying i guess

Nope! As long as it's IRDA, it's fine. When it comes to data cables though, PC Suite will only work with the Nokia cable.
