Try to solve this #2

Following on from the missing $1 brain teaser...try this one.

A brick weighs 4 kilograms and half a brick, how much does a brick and a half weigh?

The answer given must consist of the actual number and the reasoning behind that number.

Please don't cheat, it spoils the fun. Try to work it out yourself. My Mum still can't after 4 years...even after physically drawing diagrams for her.

Re: Try to solve this #2

Im thinking 12kg
you have one brick take half off one, your left with half a brick that weights 4kg's
so half a brick is 4kg and 3 half bricks is 12kg...

Sounds confusing and confused me alot to...

Re: Try to solve this #2

I was thinking 6 but i'm most likely wrong...

1 brick weighs 4 kilos and half a brick (which is half of 4 = 2) so 1 and a half bricks = 6
