Drive.com.au has a story on the turbo MX-5 SP:

This line was of interest:

The cars will be assembled for Mazda in Melbourne by Prodrive and will be covered by the same 3-year/unlimited kilometre warranty as other Mazda passenger cars.
Prodrive = Tickford doesn't it?

I believe Prodrive does work for/works with a number of manufacturers not exclusively Ford or Tickford.

Mazda = 33% owned by ford doesn't it?
Laser = Mazda car made to look a little fugly. (not that the mazda is sexy or anything)

It makes sense to use Prodrive/Tickford. They possibly announced it as Prodrive than Tickford because Tickford here has a reputation for working with fat beefy fords.. Prodrive is known for working for WRX's and turbos..

The MX-5 gravy train continues. Its a great car, and the turbo will increase its appeal even more so. Too bad I physically can't sit in the driver seat and shut the door, my legs get pinned against the steering wheel.. . If I could I would prolly look at buying one... If they could just make the dam thing a inch wider on the drivers side.
